SIPI Celebrates Growth in Dual Credit Program

Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute is celebrating an exciting year of growth and success in its dual credit program, made possible through the dedication of instructors and strong partnerships with local high schools.

This spring, students from the Wingate High School Navajo Government class traveled to the Navajo Nation, where they met President Buu Nygren, toured the Office of the President, and gained firsthand insight into the workings of the executive branch. Students also visited the KTNN radio station, giving them a meaningful look into media and communication.

The program continues to expand. This summer, seven high school students participated in SIPI’s culinary arts dual credit program, gaining hands‑on experience in food preparation while exploring career pathways and earning college credit.

SIPI has also formed a new partnership with Jemez Valley Public Schools, bringing the total to six dual credit collaborations. These partnerships help SIPI strengthen its commitment to providing higher education opportunities for Indigenous students both on and beyond reservation lands. SIPI is proud to empower young learners across the region and remains committed to supporting their academic and professional journeys.
