Health Services

Wingate High School provides comprehensive health services that support students’ physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Our team of healthcare professionals—including on-site specialists, trained educators and experienced support staff—works to ensure each student’s health needs are met throughout their academic journey. We communicate strongly with families and collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality, responsive care.
Student Health and Safety Education
Our health services program follows established safety and prevention guidelines that protect our school community from unnecessary and avoidable health risks. We emphasize ongoing health education and best safety practices throughout our learning environment. Wingate High School builds partnerships with families through regular updates related to:
- Student medical histories
- Medication administration
- Allergies
- Mental health conditions
- Special accommodation needs
Routine Health Checks and Family Communication
Routine screenings help us monitor and address the health needs of our students. These checks may include assessments for:
- Vision, dental, and nutritional concerns
- Minor injuries or infections
- Skin conditions or lice
- Emotional well-being
When a health issue is identified, parents/guardians are promptly contacted to arrange necessary pick-ups, treatments, services or attention for their child. We prioritize clear communication and school-family connections to enhance the effectiveness of student care.
Supporting Academic Success through Health and Safety
At Wingate High School, we recognize the impact of health and safety on classroom performance. Student attendance, health, and classroom engagement are directly influenced by overall well-being, all of which affect student progress.
Our staff works closely with all available healthcare resources, emergency/ambulatory services, and medical facilities to provide students with the appropriate services to support their education.
We are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every student can thrive—in health and in learning.
